A Taste of the Good Ol’ USA

A Taste of the Good Ol’ USA

Liam and I went to lunch today and he insisted that we get some buffalo wings, so we headed down to Clark Quay to Hooters.. of course. With his new hair cut, he is really charming the ladies now.
In other news, we receieved the keys to our new apartment over the weekend. Now we can really start shopping for some furniture. We’ll probably get a majority of our basic things from Ikea (Liam’s bed, desks, etc.) and then pick up some nice things here and there. We’ve managed to connect with some people that are moving back to their home countries to take some of their goods off of them. I also did some serious electronics shopping and scored a TV and a stereo/home theatre system
This week there are national holidays, one on Tuesday (Deepavali) and the other on Thursday (Hari Raya) so the malls will be packed. One thing I’ve noticed is Singapore is kind of a night owl shopping town. The stores dont open until around 11am and stay open until 10pm. I was running to pick up something from the mall downstairs the other night at 9pm and you’d think it was noon on a Saturday at the Mall of America. The place was absolutely crammed with people.
Our apartment building sponsored a Halloween party for the kids over the weekend. We managed to get a costume together for Liam. I have pictures, but am having some trouble getting them posted. I’ll add them in a new post soon.
Finally, the hosting company for the website hasn’t made the upgrades to my account yet so the site may go down at any moment, but it shouldn’t be down for long.
