Well our car was delivered yesterday and I have to say, it is really nice. So nice, in fact, that I don’t really want to wreck it by taking it out onto the Singapore streets. Between the aggressive driving of Singaporeans and the absolutely unintuitive street layout, I have to say that I am a little more than intimidated.
On top of that, all the cars here have a contraption mounted to the driver side windshield in which you insert a cash card (you need to keep the card topped off with $$$ by inserting it into a cash machine and transferring $$$ onto it) When you drive around town, you see the signs like the one to the left. When you pass under them at peak hours, the sensors trigger the contraption on your windshield to debit $$$ from your card. (Woe to the person that drives under without a cash card or $$$ on the card). They take a dollar or more each time and I don’t know the streets well enough to be able to avoid them yet.

Christina leaves for the U.S. for the week on Sunday. Should be some serious male bonding next week.
