Days fly by..

Wow. So we haven’t posted anything in a week. Sorry ’bout that. It seems that we’ve been busy with day to day foolishness and haven’t been paying any attention to you, our loyal audience. All three of you. Hi Mom.
Anyway, here are the past week’s highlights:

  • We went shopping for and purchased 2 oriental rugs. The marble floors are nice and all but the apartment needed a little sound dampening and warmth. Buying a carpet is quite an adventure in itself. There’s a lot to know and carpet salesmen here are the equivalent of used car salesmen in the U.S. so you need to do your homework – or just do what we did – find a couple pretty ones and open your wallet. Regardless, we’re happy with them.
  • Liam is getting along well in his daily playgroup. It may be a bit structured for him. The typical hour goes a bit like this: Arrive, remove shoes, play with toys for 15 minutes, put toys back in baskets, sit on a mat with other children and take direction on how to perform the hand gestures for the upcoming song, perform, repeat 10 times, get sticker, put shoes on, leave.
  • Due to the structured nature of the “playgroup”, we’ve also enrolled at Gymboree. It’s basically an indoor playground with padded walls and loads of miscellaneous play equipment so the kids can develop what we in the parenting business call “large muscle motor skills”, which is code for “pass out from exhaustion directly after dinner”.
  • Liam’s birthday is this weekend so I spent a good part of today at Toys’R'Us loading up on party gear. We’ll have a handful of guests, nothing too big but there is a suprising amount of planning that goes into a 2 year old’s birthday party. Any tips/ideas would be gladly accepted.
  • I’ve been reading books and doing some online training for some new video editing and graphics software which I hope to do something with long term and may be testing it out on you here. So, just a warning.
  • Apparently my Fantasy Football Championship winnings check is in the mail. Believe it when I see it. Didn’t keep me from already spending it.
  • Christina has been busy incubating our soon-to-be son and enjoying her new job. She also got a sweet new hair cut that I’ll let you ask her about. Apparently us backwards Minnesotans have never heard of the”Asian Asymmetrical” trend that’s sweeping the region.

In other news:
Congratulations to John and Lisa with the arrival of Charlie!
Liam’s little brother will be excited to have a playmate when we move back to St. Paul.

Website housekeeping:
Let me know if you can not view the videos in prior posts. If you are running Windows 98 (or, Lord help you, something earlier) you will not be able to see them. Sorry.
Also, I’m not sure why the Gallery asks you for a username and password twice. I’ll try to figure that one out. Christina has been bugging me about it for a couple weeks.

Last note: If you are planning on sending a package to us. Please hold it for the time being. We haven’t received any of the parcels that we’ve been expecting from Christmas or otherwise and I suspect something fishy is going on. So, in short, please hold packages until further notice.
