Rob is Going to India

If you are one of the lucky ones, you have recently received an email from me with details about my volunteer adventure in India in association with the 2006 Habitat for Humanity Jimmy Carter Work Project. If you didn’t, I apologize for the oversight and please consider this your official inviation to become a sponsor.
Here is a snippet from the email with some of the specifics:
This coming October offers me a big challenge and an exciting adventure – the Jimmy Carter Work Project 2006. I will have an opportunity to go on a Habitat for Humanity building expedition to India from Oct. 27 – Nov. 4. We will work in partnership with Habitat for Humanity Singapore and India to build simple, decent houses for 101 families in need of housing.
These homes give the families in need a sense of security, happiness and hope for a brighter future. About 30 volunteers from Singapore will embark on this meaningful journey. The cost per person is $1300(US) which covers a donation and my participation cost. Christina’s company, Cargill, is generously sponsoring half of the cost. My goal is to raise $650 to cover the other half.
This is not a luxury trip. We will work with the Indian families, sharing their food and their lives. We will travel over difficult terrain and work with building materials that are appropriate for the local area and communities. It is an opportunity to share my time and energy and learn more about the country.
If you’d like to support me in this effort, please click the link at the top right of this page and make a donation. Any amount would be helpful, but the deadline is Aug. 30, so please act soon.

Thanks in advance for your support.
