India, Parts 12 & 13: Post-Party Dinner and En route to Mamallapuram

After the bid farewell to the village, it was into town for dinner at The Promenade. When we arrived, tables were not immediately available so while we waited all the cameras came out. Many photos were taken with us in our fancy new clothes. Then dinner. No photos of the eating though… I found out earlier in the trip that taking pictures of people eating never turn out very flattering. I’ve spared you many of them.

After dinner, we headed back to the hotel and packed up for our departure the following morning.
The next day (after a few of us had coffee at the beach) we had breakfast, checked out of Hotel Mass and piled onto the bus headed to Mamallapuram. On the way we stopped at a village that hosted a Habitat for Humanity build which was complete. Everyone was interested to see what Pampabet would look like after all the homes were complete. The homes in this village were a slightly different design, but we could easily imagine how the homes we were building would look once they had been finished and painted. The villagers were happy to have us around and the kids were quite aware of the “I pose, you show me the picture” drill.
After about 15 minutes of touring the village and poking our heads into a home or two, we were back on the road.
Next stop Mamallapuram.
